The largely European-based Rocco Forte Hotels will open its first property in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in February. Located in the Saudi city of Jeddah, the 210-room Assila Hotel was designed by Rocco Forte Hotels co-founder Olga Polizzi with input from Martin Brudnizki Design Studio.
The contemporary design is punctuated with traditional Arabic elements. The hotel’s art also follows that lead: It comprises over 2,000 pieces of original works, both contemporary and traditional, all from Saudi Arabian artists. Dark wood and leather elements feature predominately in the interior design, along with stained glass panels and chandeliers.
The hotel offers 94 residential suites, with one bedroom, two bedroom and four bedrooms apartment.
In addition to a rooftop pool and onsite squash courts, guests can access spas and fitness centers, both which are separated by gender. Guests can also frequent eight different restaurants, which are also open to local residents.
